The Chota section of the exhibit is organized as a circle, with cases made with the mud plaster and thatch roofs of the time period.  See a diorama based on the archaeological footprint of the capitol, along with cases showing artifacts and reproductions of men and women’s clothing, a feather cape, pottery, baskets, game pieces, pipes, beads, and trade items like scissors, padlocks, horseshoes and bits. A pop up book shows Cherokee children’s activities.

From here, Timberlake, Ostenaco, Pigeon, Standing Turkey and a large group of Cherokees traveled to Williamsburg and London. Artifacts and artwork illustrate these trips.
